Name of Activity: The Apple Tree

Type of activity: Finger Play

Musical Objective: Students will develop listening skills, sing with rhythm, create their own verse, and do finger play to the song.:

Physical: Students will use body movement and finger gestures to the song.

Intellectual: Students will follow a set of directions.

Emotional: Students will feel excited about picking their own fruit to go up the apple tree to add on to the song.

Social: Students will work together to help pick a type of fruit if needed.

Materials: None

Procedures:

1. While facing the students teach them the song as well as the finger play and body movements they will be doing while singing the song.
2. Make sure all  the students understand the song.
3. Once they all know the song in order by taking turns the get to add their own fruit to the verse.
4. Keep going until everyone has a chance to pick a fruit, then end off the song with the original fruit.  

Evaluation: I felt as this activity went very well. I do feel like the students understood the objective because they were able to listen to each other carefully to hear what kind of fruit they are singing next, and they all said it with rhythm. Also, they completed the song with finger play.
