Reflection:
How did the lesson go? (Describe it)
- The lesson didn’t go as how I imagined it would have been, but I was definitely nervous. I was nervous because I knew that I was being observed. As I started to read to the children, I felt more relaxed. I was feeling more comfortable reading because I just imagined my Professor as just another child I was reading to. I loved the book and I think my lesson went really well.
What did you like the most? (Your strengths)
- What I liked most about my lesson was that I was able to assess the children with the chart that I created based on favorite foods.
What did you like the least? (Your areas of improvement)
- What I liked the least about my lesson was that I didn’t explain the parts of a book. I could improve by making sure that the children all know the parts of a book.
Would you teach it exactly the same way next time you have to do a lesson similar to this one?
- I would definitely try to teach a lesson similar to my read aloud because I thought my lesson went well despite my nervousness.
What would you change/do differently to improve the lesson?
- I would improve my lesson by explaining the parts of a book. For example, the cover has a title and an author, the bind holds the pages together and etc.
