Lesson Plan #3
Finger Play
Age: 7-8 years old
Location: School Yard
Objective:
• To incorporate finger plays during yard time.
• To teach children the finger play called “Stretch Up High” as an exercise.
Procedure:
a) Warm Up/Transition:
b) Culmination/Ending:
• I will introduce the finger play, “Stretch Up High” as an exercise/warm-up.
• I will ask the children to repeat after me while, I teach them the words to the
finger play.
• The children will follow my movements as we do the finger play together.
• The children will repeat the finger play a second time along with me.
• The whole class will demonstrate the finger play of “Stretch Up High” along with
me and follow the movements that is stated in this finger play.
My Evaluation:
I was content that I was able to incorporate the finger play, “Stretch Up High” as an exercise. The difficulty was that since it was yard time, I had to teach all the children in that group the finger play. I noticed many children were eager to play in the yard. I could expand this lesson during our next yard time by having the children demonstrate the different movements we used in the finger play.
