INTRODUCTION

 After reading the following guidelines, delete them and write/post your own introduction to the portfolio in this module.

The purpose of the e-portfolio is to showcase the work of students enrolled in the Education Program at KBCC; including their personal philosophy of education.  In preparing and selecting the material to be included in the e-portfolio the students are encouraged to reflect on the content of their work and to incorporate the recommendations of the instructors teaching the different Early Childhood Education courses.  

The e-portfolio is organized in several sections.  Each section has several pages, each assigned to a specific topic/theme/issue.  The sections are: Home (Including: Introduction, Personal Philosophy of Education, Table of Contents), Educational Standards (NAEYC and ACEI Standards, others can be added), Curriculum Areas (Math, Art, Music, Science, Social Studies, etc.), and Focus On (Child Development, Classroom Best Practices, DAP, Field Trips..., etc.).  An additional section entitled Certification was included to allow room for the students to place their time sheets, certificates, etc.  The last section is Contact which includes the owner of the portfolio's contact information.  This section also has a page that allows the reviewers of the portfolio to send an e-mail message to the portfolio's owner.
