Log 2: Background information for your child study

a. How old is your child in years and months? Boy or girl? Where does
the child fit in the class- among the oldest, middle, youngest? Who
does the child live at home? What language is spoken at home? How long
has the child been in school? Other information up think is relevant.

My study child is name Anastasia B. a girl who was born on August
3,2008 and attends P. S 215. She in the first grade 1-412 which is an
advance class. Anastasia is one of the youngest children in her first
grade class due to her late birthday. At home she lives with both of
her parents and is the middle child in her family. She has two
siblings who her baby brother and older brother. Anastasia speaks only
English both at home and at school. For Anastasia she has been
attending P.S 215 since pre-kindeegarten.

Since doing my student teaching I noticed how Anastasia has trouble
focusing while working by herself. When the teacher Ms. Marchese
assign activities to the class. Anastasia sometimes understands the
assignment but likes to distract the other children by talking to them
or fooling around. When an assignment is giving I sometimes more her or
sits next to her so that her work would be completed.
