Evaluation of Theme

Title of your theme:Plantin

1. 2 books you read: 
 - "Brown Bear, What do you see" by Eric Carle. The book is about different colors and different animals.The book by Eric Carle also helps the children use their imagination and also to remember the different animals the bear saw in the story.
- The tiny seed by Eric Carle, the book tells a story about a tiny seed that travels through different seasons that grows into a flower and also how it produces more seeds.
2. Cooking/Science lesson:
The children learned in the science activity how seeds turn into a flower.  The children learned the different parts of a flower by using a chart to identify the parts. The science activity also help the children learn the different materials on how a seed grow. During this activity the children learn how to create a flower by following the steps and direction on how a seed grows to a flower. 
3.Math lesson: 

 

 

In the math lesson the children were able to play a game using a dice. Each child had their own  paper flower to use in the game.  The rule of the game the children had to roll the dice, whatever the dice landed on the children had to count the  dots on the dice and  then match it with their flower pedals After the children matched the dots on their pedals they then had to trace the numbers according to the dots. 
4. Music lesson: The children were able to sing four different songs.  The children learned a song which were a greeting song called "Good morning", another song the children sung was " Head, shoulders knees and toes" were the child were able to use their body parts to sing the song. The children learned a new song "The farmer plants a seed" which they learned the steps on planting a flower. The final song the children learned was a "Goodbye"song were the children in the small group said Goodbye using their name.
 
(1)Yes, my theme was planting and it was successful.  The children learned different goals on the theme.The children also learned different academics on the theme planting. In the academics the children learned to count numbers from 1-6 and also trace them as well.  The children also learned how to do an experiment on how a seed grows into a flower. Not only did the plant a seed, they also learned the name of the materials that were used in the experiment. Children gained alot from these different activities.  Children were able to gained a better self-esteem and confidence in themselves. The children used many common core standard throughout the  activities. In these standards the children learned the concept of counting, and also were able to ask and answer questions about the experiment. 

 

2. During these academics activities the children learned to use Different materials to create a flower. The children also learned the parts of a flower and use it in different themes. In the academics the children learned how seeds grow into a flower. They also understood the concept of counting numbers and tracing the dots.By Doing these academics on planting the children asked questions about what will happen if they used different seeds to plant. By the children following the instructions the children gained a better understanding on a seed grows into a flower. 
4. The lesson integrated with  each other  on the planting theme. Math and science played a major role tp help the children to understand the different type of seeds and the different materials to help create a flower. In the literacy book on the planting theme and chart help the children develop  a better understanding and vocabulary on learning the parts of a flower.
5. In this semester I was unexpected in the different activities. Music, Math, Science, and Literacy which I had to create many activities based on my theme planting. Working with the children they helped me understand the role of being a teacher. The children helped me understand that learning should be fun.The children will be more excited learned new things. I also wasnt expected for the children to remember what the activity was about, but instead they learned and ask questions on the different activities that were on the same theme. Using these different activities the children had fun learning and can now Be able to use what they learned at home
