Education Philosophy

Education philosophy consists of what you believe about education and the set of principles that guides your professional action. Children learn in a variety of ways, whether it is in a classroom setting or experiences outside of school. I believe that children learn when they have the influence of a teacher in a classroom. Children will learn when they are broken into small groups. This gives the teacher a chance to sit down with each group and explain what they are doing in simpler terms in which the children understand. It is easier for children when they are included in the activities for the lesson. Class participation is an element in the learning experience for kids. Children need to be included in the lesson so they could get practice and understand what it is that they are doing.

Teaching and learning is a life time lesson you learn the acquisition of knowledge or skill. Learning is an internal force that will be a part of life forever. Learning plays a big role in the world; you learn new things every day. Students learn in different ways and we must provide a variety of instructional approaches. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process. Each student has different dispositions, motivation levels, and expectations. Students also have unique life experiences.

The beliefs about knowledge are the process of learning is strongly dependent on their ability to make sense of linguistic information presented in either written or oral form. Student’s effort to take responsibility and learn without a limit is a great share of knowledge. Every child deserves to receive an education. A teacher should make sure that learning is fun for his/her students. Staying involved with professional development so we can continuously learn new things. Striving to have positive relationships with students. The desire to learn must be nurtured by the teacher if it’s not already present.

Carlene Bailey EDC 20(sectionD06C) Professor J. Valdez October 25, 2011 Which professional standard did the second mini paper meet? The second mini paper I wrote is called “My Education Philosophy”. Based on the NAEYC STANDARDS FOR PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION, the standard that my mini paper met is standard 6: Becoming a Professional. I feel that standard 6 matches my mini paper because the philosophy is what we believe in. Student teachers believe in social justice, ethical behavior and honesty which demonstrates opened to learning and growing as a teacher.
